The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 and purify your clothing, 4 Pollution shun! 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And children present [with him] 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he beheld, 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
