Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
