Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 Warn the men. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 From the guilty. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
