By the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
