I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 Warn the men. 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
