Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 Warn the men. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
