Nay, and by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
