Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who will be in Paradise 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
