No! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 about the guilty ones: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
