No, by the moon! 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
