Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the guilty ones: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
