Nay! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
