▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
