Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mortals, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 except those of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
