NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 About the guilty: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
