Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning for people -- 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
