I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 by the retreating night, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
