Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mortals, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
