By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
