Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
