▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, and by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About the guilty: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
