Nay, by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 a warning to humankind, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
