By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
