Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 a warning to humans, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
