Nay, by the Moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to humankind, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 about the guilty ones: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
