No, by the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Till death overtook us. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
