Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mortals, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
