NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
