I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
