By no means! By the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 Warn the men. 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About the guilty: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Till death overtook us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
