Nay! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
