Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They said, "We never used to offer the prayer." 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
