Nay, and by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 a warning to humans, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 From the guilty. 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
