Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
