Nay, and by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
