I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to humans, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About the criminals, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
