Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
