Nay, by the Moon 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning for people -- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 From the guilty. 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
