By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
