Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
