Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens they will question 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
