Nay! By the moon 32 By the receding night 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
