Nay, and by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
