NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 From the guilty. 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
