Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens they will question 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
