Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As they were frightened asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
