Nay, by the Moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
