By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
