Nay, by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until death approached us". 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
