No, by the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 About the criminals, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
